Painted on a ground of Ahimsa silk, hand-spun and hand-woven in India, the lines appeared rapidly and seemingly out of nowhere one afternoon. The pink color caught me a bit off guard, but it brought me joy and so I went with it. This piece feels as though I have my nose touching a larger painting and am getting lost in the microscopic mark-making of a larger form, while at the same time looking at an inviting copse of trees from a good distance away. Wanting to enter into and make my way through it all.
