After a rain storm, I went out foraging pieces of softened Carmel stone in my neighborhood. This is the local stone that gives Carmel Beach in California its light and luminous sand. Pulverizing the stone in the mortar and pestle back in the studio, I created a textured paint. With looser brush strokes and generous layering of colored pigments, this textured piece formed over time. This piece hopes to lull the senses and intrigue the eye, as it generously captures and reflects light.
